Eco-sustainability and environmental and personal health care certifications.
The passion and quality with which MFDesign works are officially recognized.
Being in harmony with principles of environmental sustainability that the use of antique wood, a noble reclaimed material with no impact, guarantees, there are additional certifications that reward MFDesign's care for people's health and respect for the delicate and precious ecosystem in which the company is embedded.
PEFC®
PEFC is a program for mutual recognition of forest certification schemes. Is a global alliance of national forest certification systems. An international non-profit and non-governmental organisation and is committed to promoting sustainable forest management through independent third-party certification.
Forest certification provides a tool to promote the sustainable management of our forests. It ensures that products based on forest raw materials that reach the market, have been obtained from sustainably managed forests.
Sustainable forest management means: using forests without compromising biodiversity; it means protecting the forest so that it can regenerate and produce independently, even for future generations.
FSC®
FSC is an international non-profit NGO.
The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification is an international certification born in 1993, specific for the forestry sector and products derived from forests managed in a correct and responsible manner according to strict environmental, social and economic standards. It ensures the traceability of derived products.
The FSC certification ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests, thus ensuring environmental, social and economic benefits. In its 20 years of operation, FSC has earned a reputation as a credible and rigorous forest certification system.
LEED®
The LEED® certification promotes a sustainability-oriented approach, recognising the performance of buildings in areas such as energy and water saving, the reduction of CO2 emissions, the improvement of the ecological quality of the interior, the materials and resources employed, the project and the choice of the site.
The certification, which is issued to a building in its entirety, and not to the individual product, covers three categories: silver, gold and platinum, in relation to the final scores attributed to the building taking into account the materials used for the construction. It is therefore essential to define the Leed credits that each product can guarantee.
Leed mapping takes place on a voluntary basis and we at MFDesign decided to take this path, to maintain and increase the quality standards of our productions.
The type of waxes and glues that MFDesign uses for its products contribute to the acquisition of Leed credits.
The waxes and oils with which the boards are treated on the surface are completely natural, obtained from products such as linseed oil, hemp oil, sunflower oil and carnauba wax. These elements also give the floors, walls and furnishings softness and brightness, as well as the ability to customize the aromas.
The glues used are free of formaldehyde and pentachlorophenol, so they do not contain volatile organic compounds that could endanger the health of the consumer.
VEGAN®
Veganism is a global lifestyle phenomenon that grows by an average of 1500% per year.
Nowadays, topics such as animal love, environmental sustainability, and the health benefits scientifically proven by the Vegan lifestyle are increasingly promoted and crucial in consumer life and consumer decisions.
This certification allows consumers to choose products in line with their lifestyle.
To obtain certification companies must comply with these principles:
• No animal ingredient used in processing or production;
• No animal testing;
• Full indication and disclosure of all ingredients.
Beeing a certified Vegan company allows you to convey to consumers greater product reliability, build consumer confidence and ensure brand-loyalty.
