The second life of a wooden floor reinterprets the beauty of the past.
A story that lives on. The European walnut floor recovered from
historic houses near Naples becomes the main
actor in the renovation of a twentieth century villa in Liguria.
A story that has as protagonist the wood,
link among the levels of the villa and all the living spaces.
We are in Santa Margherita Ligure, a place dedicated to beauty, art and hospitality.
The villa stands among the beautiful architecture of the twentieth century overlooking the sea. We tell you
about an important and respectful renovation carried out with great attention to details and with carefully
chosen materials that can give new splendour to all domestic environments.
The floor, made by MFDesign in European walnut, is the undisputed
protagonist of the house. It was recovered
from historic houses near Naples and laid with glue following a specific pattern, piece by piece.
Pattern floors are art forms designed “to measure”.
Inspiration can come from a simple detail. MFDesign starts from traditional and historical elements, which
can be transformed into new interpretations thought by our professionals or by the customer himself. These
choices give rise to contemporary and trendy designs.
The choice of pattern laying,
enhances the spaces creating a refined and original chromatic texture.
Before the final laying, the composition is "tested" in the company to check the exact position of the
planks and veins for an elegant and custom-made final chromatic result.
The planks have a total thickness of 15 mm, with a noble layer of 4.5 mm and are supplied with female/female joints in order to allow the selection of the most suitable pieces for colour and fiber.
The floor has also been treated with a scented amber wax. This aroma was requested by the client for a multi-sensory and long-lasting result.
Among the renovated elements that have contributed to the enhancement of the interior we can also include the parapets of the pre-existing staircase in the house and brought back to life thanks to a wise work of restoration.
The sartorial approach of MFDesign makes every realization versatile. There are no limits to the patterns and to the compositions, and for this reason every type of floor easily adapts to any type of environment, creating ad hoc solutions.
