We are proud to support the project "Eyes of image to help Onlus".
Kenya, Loitokitok Hospital, Kajiado County.
The project involves the construction of a specialized center to give support to visually impaired and blind people suffering from cataracts. The aim of the project is to solve the problem of cataracts with eye surgery to avoid blindness.
With our gift we wanted to give a real contribution to the most disadvantaged people and in the Association we found people extraordinarily active and concrete and that allowed us to actively work for others.
Onlus Imagine To Help, project leader, has been operating in Kenya since 2014. "We are proud to have launched a project that, for the first time after many years of support to the Masai population in Kenya, will bring with us many organizations and Italian doctors" says Dr Rossana Marra, President of the Onlus Imagine To Help.
In fact, in 2023, medical and non-medical staff will move to Kenya to deal with the prevention and treatment of eye diseases that lead to blindness.
Through the volunteers of the project, it will be possible to carry out eye screening in rural Kenya and surgical interventions that reduce the risk of blindness. In this regard, a collaboration agreement has already been signed with the Department of Health Services and Public Health of Kajiado County, which all project activities will be carried out with. "Participating in such an international activity is a source of pride for us. We are sure that working together we will succeed in achieving very important goals", says Amedeo Iacobacci, President of the Aios Civil Protection Association.
We thank Dr Rossana Marra, soul and body of the project and all her collaborators.
